Background: Jack is the 3rd son of a Buffalo gunsmith born in 1850. Growing up he took a keen interest in his fathers trade and learned everything he could. So in 1872, at the age of 22, Jack decided life was passing him by and it was time to move on. Wanting to make a name for himself, he packed up and headed west. After 2 years of wandering from city to city he found himself in Dodge City, Kansas. After just a week, he found employment with the city gunsmith Frederick Zimmerman. Dodge City seemed like the place to be. The city was growing rapidly, there were all kinds of people and the gun business couldn't have been better. Jack was enjoying himself greatly and was making a name for himself as a ladies man. Life was great until, the relationship began. Jack's boss was married to a very attractive woman. Matilda, only 7 years older than Jack and they had a friendship going. Now Frederick was a loving husband but, his business was expanding and that took a large amount of his time and Matilda was still a young and very beautiful woman. Well, one thing led to another and one night they were caught. Needless to say, Jack decided that instant, it was time to move on..........
