Aegis Hunter Implant (Patron Item)
  • By utilizing a microscopic port on the skin and the ability of the nanobots to utilize the organic material of the body, Mindwerks has created an implant which can create a tiny insect sized drone which can be sent out for short ranged recon. The drone can get anywhere a mosquito-sized insect might, but has incredible strength for its size. It has two modes: an autonomous mode where it will follow a predetermined path and come back and report what has been seen as a sensory download into the character's brain, or the character can directly take control for an insect's eye view. Used to track down fugitive supers, the nano drone feeds data directly into the users neo-cortex.
  • The hero ignores any and all obscurement penalties (darkness, fog, invisibility, etc). Cover penalties for solid objects still apply normally. (Awareness, 3, Device)

Armored Overcoat (ARES Patron Item)
  • The overcoat or long-coat — also known as a duster — is a favorite among cowboys, gunfighters, and sheriffs because it is both stylish and offers a surprising amount of protection, as well as making an excellent raincoat (waterproof), and a good article of clothing in which to hide a shotgun or rifle under. The entire coat is lined with (relatively) lightweight armor padding with plates over the shoulders and torso (often concealed under the fabric). It offers 8 small, but usable, internal pockets (four on each side).

ARES Protocol: Delilah Carter (Athena) Background

Background

Delilah Carter was a civilian researcher working for the Department of Defense when the alien invasion occurred. Her work was on biomolecular nanotechnology for the treatment and repair of battlefield injuries. Her husband, Major Horatio Carter, was in charge of the DOD’s enhanced soldier program, and used her work to cross-fertilize the so-called “super soldier” initiative.

With the alien invasion, Delilah’s department was folded over into the new ARES Protocol and she became one of the research directors, responsible for creating the superheroes needed to fight the aliens. When the research facility at at Area 51 was compromised by an alien assault team, Delilah was injured. To save her life, and those of her colleagues, she injected herself with the experimental nanites with which she was working. They healed her injuries and supercharged her body enough to fight free and defeat the aliens.

Delilah was drafted into an ARES unit and served with distinction. But with the defeat of the alien menace, Delilah was dismissed from her post. She slowly observed her husband and the government turning on the superheroes they had created, watching battle after battle of former hero against government forces on the news, led by her husband. With her marriage deteriorating, Delilah knew it was only a matter of time before they came for her.

Delilah took her teenage daughter Summer and went underground, trying to stay off the government’s -- and her husband’s -- radar.
