Attention all,

I know the current situation looks bad for Beretta, however this situation is not necessarily the end of Baretta. Let me take a minute to break down what happened during that combat round. The Murder Wraith attacked Beretta with wild abandonment giving him a +2 to his attack roll. This allowed him to make the TN of 6 that Baretta has for her parry. The damage was sufficient to give her 3 wounds. A character is able to function with 3 wounds, however with severe penalties. A vigor roll would be beneficial, and she would need to make it with 3 or 4 raises (need to confirm that) to negate the physical injury to her from the murder wraith attack.

The second part of the round was when Johnny fired into the melee. Beretta did have heavy cover (-4 to hit) from the murder wraith, unfortunately, that was insufficient to stop the damage. As of right now, Baretta is potentially incapacitated. I wish to assure you, it is a good possibility that baretta will come threw it.

I am posting this to help alleviate concerns and help explore this aspect of the game. To my knowledge we are the first to be in this situation, and as such if we can understand the steps and the processes this can be avoided in the future.

After doing a little more research, dying is even more difficult than we originally thought. Not only do players roll on the Incapacitated table in the core book, if you fail that you roll on the Death & Defeat table in the tomorrow legion, where you have can die but only if you roll a 1-4.

basically we are waiting for Beretta's rolls though we do have Conrad about to attempt first aid

Not to put words in Beretta's mouth, but the feeling I got in speaking with the player wasn't that the character may die...it's that the best case scenario is that Beretta is off the mission, and probably requires immediate medevac back to the castle, meaning the mission is at best delayed, possibly handed off to another group.
