Silver Bluff Leyline Position
Hi Folks,
Please post where your character is going to be position wise on the map and what gear if any is at the ready. The GM guide as far as I can tell does not make any mention of how far away you need to be to manipulate a rift there are rules for drawing on a rift to be sure. For now we are going to go with 1/2 your spirit die away from the rift ( If anyone can point me to a better solution I would be game).
Example 1: I am at B6 with my crossbow out.
Example 2: I am right next to Bane with my shield and sword at the ready

Silver bluff would be to the south.

GM note: +1 benny to all players for a really interesting and out of the box plan.

I'm thinking Nadine will park at F5 unless otherwise needed. How deep/fast is that river? Nadine can stand across the river at S20 if it's not a difficult crossing, and if we need someone on that side of the river.
Nadine has, in hand, the water pump made earlier in the day. Sunburst missile is armed, and so are the silver railgun rounds. Max has his new JA-9 and vibrosword wedged in next to him in the cockpit.

Yeah Nadine can stand in the water, it would require a swim check from someone swiming across, but Nadine is just that awesome! Cantrell will be with Markus on his hovercycle (or standing next to it, if parked) with her new pulse rifle at the ready, and a couple of UV grenades clipped to her bandoleer in easy reach.

How close does Libertas need to be to have his machine tweak the gate? If he needs to basically be adjacent, then he'd prefer G19. Otherwise, probably further back.

Jude will set up prone in a sniper's post at M11 (unless you think we need someone across the river to protect Bane and Lib?). He will have his rifle with the glaive on it out, and his wooden cross/stake at hand tucked in the back of his belt. It's the only thing he has that's effective against vampires. The rifle and glaive aren't going to do any good against them. Though he can still shake them with normal damage, right?

Yes you can shake them. I think we are just waiting on Bane, Lucretia, and Kesslan to post their positions and then we cane start this.

Lucretia will stand at G19. She has her psi-blade and psi-shield ready, has powered her armor (-1 ISP, lasts a hour) and activated her cyber-armor. As soon as the two casters begin their process, she will activate the sunlight necklace (-2 PPE from 15 ppe internal 'battery', lasts 30 minutes). From that position, the entire rift should be bathed in sunlight, I believe.
Max - my only concern about Nadine standing in the water is that river monster that you and Kesslan fought off earlier.

Sounds good to me. Lucretia great idea to have the light right there. Post some narrative about you setting up. Make the casting skill roll on the tw device. I don't want to stand IN the water. I was thinking across the river from the rift in case something approaches that way. But I'll go with F5. Markus' hoverbike can get over the river quicker and safer than I can.

BTW, how high is that ridge the Ley Line is sitting on? It'd be nice if Max has a clear line of fire over the heads of anyone standing on the field below, but we shouldn't assume.... Specifically, I'm looking at the portion in E-F 18.

Probably no more than 1 square of elevation.
