The following Edge is from the 50 Fathoms Book, pg 21.
I would like to use it on a Character...
Oversized Weapon Master
Requirements: Seasoned, Fighting d8+
The Character may use two-handed melee weapons with one hand. The minimum Strength for using the weapon still applies as normal.

Re: Edge: Oversized Weapons Master
I really dislike this edge, I see it in D&D, 50 Fathoms, and other setting with no accounting for Strength. I like the Way Hero System did it, so the Strength Minimum is raised by 5. I think in Savage Worlds the Strength Minimum should be raised by a die step, or perhaps 2.Lars wrote:The following Edge is from the 50 Fathoms Book, pg 21.

That having been said I will add a Poll and Abstain as no-one in my game plans on taking it.

I imagine any Parry penalty associated with the weapons stays?

I would even say it stacks. You are going to be much less nimble at parrying attacks when you are swinging two giant swords with so much inertia to overcome.Tribe of One wrote:I imagine any Parry penalty associated with the weapons stays?

Re: Edge: Oversized Weapons Master
I do think the idea that the MinStr goes up by one die-type makes sense. If there's a two-handed weapon out there with no MS, then it would go to d6.

Add in dwarven as a racial requirement and I will approve.
