Dragon Retrapped-Hello Cosmo Knight

Hi folks,

If I squint really hard at the dragon I can just about squeeze in the cosmo knight. I was curious what you guys thought about this change to the resistances of a dragon:

Resistant to energy: The Cosmo Knight is immune to fire, heat, plasma attacks. Electrical, lightning, and laser weapons do ½ damage. The kink in the armor is the resistances and invulnerability do not apply to magic or psionic attacks or effects.

Normally the dragon is just immune to fire, heat, and plasma from all sources.

Remove psionics and replace with effectively a limited smite for the hand weapon. Obviously no size but replacement is the shadow of your original race from cyborg. That's my first thoughts

I think it can be done, and still work out.

Make their "Dragon Armor" into Cosmo-Knight Armor as something they summon and then take away shape change, replace Claws and Teeth with a "Cosmic Weapon".
All mechanics really close and you are good. I think the change you have on fire and heat versus all energy, but not affecting magic works too.

I would dump Psionics and replace it with AB Miracles to represent the powers use PPE and come from the Cosmic Forge.
  • 2D6 EFFECT
    2 Catastrophe: Something goes terribly wrong. The GM must decide what, but some ideas are a new and permanent Minor Hindrance, the inability to use powers for several days, or an explosion of some sort. The backlash should be thematic if possible. If the hero tampers with dark forces for his abilities, for example, he might become corrupted or summon something sinister into the world. If he’s a weird scientist the device might explode for 3d6 damage in a Medium Blast Template, or he might develop a Quirk, Phobia, or other “madness.”

    3 Backfire: The power succeeds as with a raise but affects a different target with the worst possible results. A bolt hits a random friend, boost Trait increases an enemy’s skill or attribute, etc. If there’s no likely target, he’s Stunned instead. If the power has a Duration other than Instant, it lasts its full term and can only be negated by dispel (the caster can’t voluntarily end it herself).

    4–5 Short Circuit: The power fails but the Power Points allocated to it are spent, along with an additional 1d6 Power Points.

    6–8 Stunned: The caster is Stunned (see page 106). She subtracts 2 from arcane skill rolls for the rest of the encounter (the penalty remains –2 even if she gets this result again).

    9–10 Overload: The character’s synapses crackle and overload with power. He takes 2d6 damage plus the cost of the power in Power Points, including any Power Modifiers the player declared.

    11 Fatigue: The character suffers Fatigue.

    12 Overcharge: The power draws ambient energy from the air, automatically succeeding against the target with a raise and costing the caster no Power Points!

Thanks for the feed back. I am working on the character right now and the resistances and size seem the two things that are challenging. Really the only thing I would need to change are the resistances which is why I put it here.

If the resistance and invulnerability proposed changes look fine then I am pretty much all the way there.

That tail sweep seems excessive for someone that is human sized. Change to adjacent foes? Basically get the sweep and/or improved sweep edge?

Would suggest cosmo knights can't take an ab background

Yeah I can see that. Really I am just making a dragon and calling it a cosmo knight. The two share so many similarities that their stark differences seem to be something that did not matter much.
