Re: Cost of silver plating?

Err, why would you multiply the multiplier by x10? The "multiply costs from other books by x10" guideline would only apply to base items, not multipliers, otherwise you're doubling up and increasing costs exponentially. A vibroblade etc is already priced in SR dollars, so it would just be ...

Several of the games on the site make occasional use of the Savage Worlds Quick Combat rules, which you can find in full here . Similar to a Dramatic Task, it's a quick and dirty way to deal with shorter combats in a narrative fashion. The GM uses them often in both games I play in and they work rea...

Yeah, I was thinking of the good stuff, that doesn't rub off. It would cost a TW 5,000 to add a silver trapping to a weapon, so I was thinking 10,000 might work to get silver weapon like you can roll on the HJ table.

Sure thing. There are templates for the character sheet format in the Character Creation thread in this sub, I believe.

Great. And I think Jax was your buddy, correct? If you can, let him know about the new site url.

Hey all, I'm sure the website issues have thrown people off. Please check in with me here or by PM if you're on the list so I know of we've lost anyone.

Re: Recruiting: 18th Community Outreach Team (New West)

Okay, I think I've got a tentative roster. I couldn't squeeze in everyone, but tried to give priority to new players and folks who were using their Patron character slots. Here goes: (Freemage) Sir Blurre - Quick-Flex Cyber-Knight, intent on bringing the Tomorrow Legion's aid to any who need it whil...

Re: Recruiting: 18th Community Outreach Team (New West)

I lean toward Kim Black, as well. I have a cool idea for a weapon to give her instead of her draining blade (melee doesnt really seem her style).

Re: Recruiting: 18th Community Outreach Team (New West)

Hey there! I'm new here, and to Post to Play, but would love to create a LLW scholar as interested in chronicling the various life forms that have come to earth across the Rifts as he is in unearthing the history behind their creation in the first place. Assuming that would works for this setting a...

Yep, go for it. Bonus points if he's got some ties to the Black-Collared Brothers of Black Mesa.

Re: Dark Armor (Version 2 of the dark platemail)

Ha! Much better (in terms of bonuses) and also much worse (in terms of permanent and significant hindrances). Overall, I think this version is less appealing to Penitent, who already has one Charisma penalty-inducing permanent parasite. But others might be interested.

Re: Dark Plate Mail

It was tempting for Penitent, which is good as you don't want it to be a sure yes or a sure no. Compared to his existing Gladiator armor, it's one less Armor but one more Toughness, no problem there, but I'd lose my armor-based night vision and FEV (and become vulnerable to plasma and frags) in retu...

Yeah, I like Freemage's idea. Give them Upgradable instead of Toughness and ditch Restricted Path, then call it good.

Re: Dark Plate Mail

Ah, okay. That helps with the decision. I think it's a no-go for Penitent - - I don't want to become a magnet for every plasma cannon we run into in the future. Maybe one of the others will take the bait.

Re: Dark Plate Mail

1/2 damage from energy would apply to plasma and particle beams, along with lasers? But not explosives, rail guns, melee attacks, etc. What about fire? And what about magic attacks -- I guess that would depend on trappings?

If there's room (obviously new players before me), I have several characters sitting in the wings on the Supporting Cast list and am willing to fill whatever niche we might need. Ready to play are: Caleb Black (MARS PCO Shadow warrior) Kim Black (Techno-Wizard) Sierra Mackenzie (Burster) Reiko Tana...

Re: Recruiting: 18th Community Outreach Team (New West)

Sidekicks was part of my initial idea. With Command and leadership Edges. I was trying to do to much. So I dropped that idea. I was actually wondering if trying to be a squishy melee fighter was such a good idea, I mean if I'm going to be a melee guy why not a Combat Borg, Juicer, etc. But if this ...

Re: Recruiting: 18th Community Outreach Team (New West)

I'm interested. Was toying with a MARS concept but souring on it. I'll see if I can use this as motivation to kick my ass into gear and finish something. If there is room. Definitely room for you, as it looks like this would be your first character. Are you going to tweak the pirate character? That...

Re: Recruiting: 18th Community Outreach Team (New West)

Thank you for the welcome. I hope it's alright, but I'm going to ditch the Crazy IF idea. I was in the middle of building it and saw that another PC has built almost the exact character I was looking to make (same race, attribute distribution, Edge choices). I hope it's alright that instead I try t...

Sounds like a fun concept/idea. If you would have me, I'd like to take a shot at re-building Jasco (Crazy IF instead) to accommodate the group dynamic you presented. I have not played Savage Rifts before, but am a long-time Rifts player/GM. Therefore Jasco is my first foray into the Savage Worlds m...

Recruiting: 18th Community Outreach Team (New West)

After mulling over a campaign idea the past couple of months, I -- Tribe of One aka Cantrell aka Penitent -- am taking the plunge into GMing with a game set in the New West. Here's the pitch: Black Market Bible Camp Located just east of the ruins of Kenton, Oklahoma, near the borders of the Old Amer...
