    Background and Commander Drust: The Goblin Corps is comprised of non human D-Bee's who are loyal to the Legion. The Legion's 6th AAT (Arcane Anomaly Team) aka the Goblin Corps, is under direct command of a Blood Ogre named Drust. Elle of Owls has taken to calling the Ogre, Commander Drust, since he does not wish an actual rank to be assigned to him. Drust is roughly 50 years old, his first 35 years of age were spent in a warband on a far off world in another dimension. Having clawed and killed his way to General of a Blood Ogre army, under command of a Necromancer Prince, Drust, after arriving on Rifts Earth doesn't wish to be a General of an army now that he is free of that old life. Drust studied magic in Tolkeen and was part of the Tolkeen-CS wars. While in Tolkeen the Blood Ogre worked as a guard to the King and furthered his own magical knowledge until the war started and he joined in the battle. It is said that Drust is one of a small few who know what actually happened to King Creed, King of Tolkeen, when the CS conquered the City State and razzed it to the ground. After a run in with Lord Coake, shortly after the final battle in Tolkeen, Drust started Adventuring with the Cyber Knight. After arriving at Castle Refuge with Lord Coake, Drust took over to a AAT on Lord Coake’s suggestion and Elle of Owls order. Refusing rank, he accepts he over sees, as a Commander, the newly formed 6th AAT. Drust is often recognized by other Legion members who were in Tolkeen as the King’s friend and guard. He has no plans on Adventuring outward with the 6th, not until be recovers from the magically incurred injuries he sustained anyway. It is whispered he suffers a curse which no one at the Castle can isolate or cure, yet. Another rumor is he allowed the curse to be cast upon him in order to forget King Creeds whereabouts. At times the ingenious, sorcerer warrior and commander, drifts off and becomes unfocused. He is aware of these issues and feels like he would be a danger to work with in the field, thus he runs the 6th AAT.

    Second in command of the AAT is a younger female Orc, born on Rifts Earth, who is around 24 years of age. Magitha (Mags) is a expert archer and Ley Line Walker. She has limited combat time and was schooled in the arts of Line Walking in Lazlo. Quite often Mags holds AAT briefings and acts as Executive Commander for Drust when the seven foot tall blood ogre is in a state of drifting off. Mags almost looks to Drust as a father figure and she is very smart, a excellent mage and will one day either take over the 6th AAT or likely form her own new team. She is content for now being second. For the time being she is Staff, not a Field Operative.

    What is a AAT: Ley Line Walkers and Techno-Wizards are most likely assigned to lead such teams, which also include scholars who specialize in occult matters and the cosmology of ley lines and Rifts. Such teams are sent to explore the ley lines, Rifts, and other related matters. They also look for artifacts and arcane resources that are as yet unused or in the wrong hands. The 6th AAT is like all the other AATs, except that it just so happens to be comprised of all non humans. Thus some one nicknamed it the Goblin Corps, and the name stuck. The 6th AAT is made up of two Sections. Section 1 is comprised of purely Staff personnel. Section 2 are field agents of the AAT. They are the ones who, not only investigate, research, but also travel beyond the castle walls to retrieve items, research on site at dangerous locations and investigate all manner of magic or mystic incidents.

    Typical Classes of those assigned to an AAT: Shifter, Ley Line Walker, Techno Wizard, Mystic, Body Fixer, City Rat, Operator, Psi Operator, Rogue Scholar, Vagabond, Wilderness Scouts, and others (with GM approval).

    AAT Specialized Training:
    Members of the AAT start out as new Characters (I.F. or M.A.R.S. with the typical +5 PbP XP) however are given a crash course in both magic and staying alive in the dangerous world of Rifts Earth, learning how to work as a team under pressure.
  • Every member of the AAT starts with a Kn:Arcane d4 or can add a free die type to their Kn:Arcane skill if they start with the skill. After being excepted into the AAT a intensive month long "schooling" is attended. This is not necessarily what all AATs do, but Drust insisted each member of the GC spend the time being instructed on matters of the arcane by Mags.
  • Additionally each member of the AAT can pick either: d4 (or +1 die type) to Fighting or Shooting. Again, Drust wants to make sure the members are up to snuff on staying alive in a fire fight, during times when hunting down a magic artifact becomes dangerous, or while investigating a Rift/Nexus point the CS attacks the team, for merely being non human.


    Races of the 6th AAT:
    For fun, and theme, Player Characters for the AAT can be, D'Norr Devilmen D-Bee's, Lyn Siral D-Bee's, Simvan D-Bee's, Psi Stalker D-Bee's, Shaintar Races (with approval from GM), and GM Approved D-Bee's (From Rifts Books or Custom created). How long will this AAT game last?
About a month ago I started thinking of wrapping up the BC game come April 1st 2018. That will mean it lasted one full year. I plan on this AAT lasting for one year also. At that point I will decide, with Player input, continue as the AAT? Return to the Black Company? Or start something new?


Can I transfer my XP off my BC Character to this Character?
No. Not at this time. More on that lower down.


Only I.F. and M.A.R.S. Characters are allowed? What about ARES?
At this time, generally, no to ARES. Submit it anyway and I’ll individually review ARES. Why? Trying to start out at a over all lower power level than the ARES affords.


Dragons ok?
No. Just like, no Power Armor or similar type of Characters.


Can I create my own D-Bee to play?
Sure. Fire away. If it’s along the lines of other Rifts D-Bee’s or the ones listed below it should be fine.


So we work for the Legion and are loyal to it. Do we get along with human?
Yup. And... nope. Example CHA negatives like having a -4 when dealing with humans doesn’t apply at Castle Refuge. If / when people who are pro-Legion learn and believe you are part of the Legion the negative is halved. Enemies of the Legion still hate you as normal. Everyday encounters will be wary of you as stated until you prove you are good guys.


What kind of game is this going to be?
Fun. Or so the plan goes. Racial tensions might exist but I don’t plan on this being about that. Somewhat lighter in nature than the Black Company was, there will still be monsters and bad guys and adventures, but we will be heroes! Likely along the lines of other SET games. Focus will include Investigation and travel across N. America (maybe beyond) looking into Arcane matters and sometimes recovering Arcane items that went missing after the Tolkeen-CS war. I have some story arcs in mind for sure. Don’t think you’ll never hear of Gloom, the Future Brigade or such things, there is no reason we can’t mix it up in the coming epic story Pender is organizing. I don’t imagine visiting Gloom, unless it’s way later in the final battle. Who knows when that time comes, maybe you’ll be asked to join the battle as both your BC Character and Goblin Corps Character. Time will tell.


Speaking of my Black Company Character, what happens with him/her with the Black Company being placed in hiatus?
1. You are free to take your BC Character and join another game run by another GM. Example: Say, Alecto doesn’t wish to be retired and decides to joins the 13th SET which has an opening. If that is case, and Alecto’s Player ALSO wants to be in the 6th AAT, they need to pop the EP create a new Character and join the AAT. Joining other games is subject to that GM approval.

2. You are a GM of your own game and wish to use your BC Character as a NPC. Why not? Go for it.

3. You want to place your BC Character on hold and play a new Character in the AAT. EP cost none. The BC Character stays in BC area, not Fallen or On Hold. Just sits where it is. Unused. Leave them there or at a later time use them. Be aware of need to spend EP later on them if you create a AAT Character you jointly play.

4. Retire your BC Character and opt out of the new AAT game? Sure. Move Character to Fallen or on hold and take the Characters Earned Advances (xp) with you to a newly created Character. Transfer of xp as normal site rules.


You also might note, I dropped all my Characters and opted to still GM. Some day I hope to start up a Character again. That time is not now. Too many projects to juggle.

Waste Goblin

These scraggy green-skinned (yellow, green, brown-ish etc) humanoids are short, 3 to 4 feet tall. Born on the world of Rifts Earth some time in the last few hundred years they were rifted originally from another dimension. No one really cared much about that and their past world knowledge has faded into lore. Sometimes known as sewers rats or Green Gunkers, any time they feel at home and are quite sneaky.
  • Nimble (+4): Goblins are very agile and nimble-footed creatures; they start with Agility d6 instead of d4, and receive the Extraction Edge for free
    (even if they don’t meet its requirements).
  • Infravision (+1): Goblins halve penalties for bad lighting against living targets (round down).
  • Sneaky (+1): Goblins begin with a free d6 in Stealth.
  • Runty (–3): Goblins are typically three to four feet tall; they have Pace 5, Size –1, and cannot take the Small Hindrance.
  • Outsider (–1): Goblins suffer –2 Charisma when dealing with civilized races.

  • Brainy: Gremlins are clever and cunning. They start with a d6 in Smarts instead of a d4 (+2)
  • Stealthy: Gremlins are used to avoiding attention and get a free d6 in Stealth (+1)
  • Goblinoid: Goblins and Gremlins are the doormats of the Megaverse and suffer -2 Charisma with most races (-1).
  • Darkvision: Born and raised in the dark, they have Low light vision (+1)
  • Goblins: There’s no disguising this face. Gremlins suffer a -4 penalty to Charisma when dealing with CS Citizens (-2)
  • Savvy: Gremlins have a natural affinity for devices and have +2 Repair (+2)
  • Diminutive: Gremlins stand three to four feet tall and reduce their Toughness by 1 (-1)
  • Ankle Biter: Sharp pointy teeth give a Str+d6 bite attack (+1).
  • Weak: -2 to Strength checks (-3)
  • Pack-Rat: One being’s trash is a Gremlin’s treasure. Constantly picking up “useful” refuse, baubles, and items for tinkering with later. Gremlins start with the Scavenger edge (+2).

Created by Sparky: Gnomes are similar in stature to Dwarves though they are more slender and not so sturdy. Gnomes tend to be attracted to anything related to science or magic. Physically Gnomes tend to grow to a height between three and three and a half feet tall with an average weight between 35 and 45 pounds. Gnomes tend towards a slender build but fat Gnomes aren’t all that uncommon either. Gnomes are also long lived and can reach an age of 300 or more outwardly aging at a slow but steady rate.

Racial Abilities and Complications
  • Curious Gnomes are smart and inquisitive and generally don’t give a second thought about sticking their nose into some interesting (and potentially dangerous) situation.
  • Distinctive D-Bee From a distance Gnomes can be mistaken for human children but an up close inspection will generally dispel that illusion. Unless they take measures to disguise themselves Gnomes suffer a -4 Charisma when dealing with anyone from the Coalition States.
  • Knowledgeable All Gnomes love learning all kinds of new things. They start with a d6 in two Knowledge skills of their choice
  • Low Light Vision Living underground has allowed Gnome eyes to adapt to the dark spaces under the earth. They ignore penalties for dim and dark lighting.
  • McGyver Gnomes are naturals when it comes to building impromptu gadgets or improvising tools. Those that rely on innate talent may end up building something bigger, more ornate and less predictable than their more formally trained fellows (GM’s discretion.) It will still get the job done one way or another.
  • Really Smart Gnomes have above average intelligence and start with a d6 Smarts.
  • Short Legs Much like Dwarves their short legs just don’t let them move as fast as the taller races. They have a Pace of 5.
  • Small Stature Due to their short and relatively slender stature Gnomes have a -1 Toughness.

Palladium Wolfen

Description: (The full background text of the Wolfen can be found on pp 86 of the Rifts Conversion Book.)
The Wolfen are a species of large humanoids that also bear a striking resemblance to the canine species of wolves. On their home world the Wolfen have only adopted civilization for the last couple of generations and indeed many races there, including humans, still see the Wolfen as a barbaric race. The truth is, however, that the Wolfen are in most ways equals to humans in terms of society and culture. And while there is a great deal of propaganda and rumor accusing the Wolfen of barbaric acts on their homeworld resulting in a great deal of distrust and animosity between the Human and Wolfen empires this does not seem to carry over to Rifts Earth. Wolfen that find their way to this dimension seem to be willing to judge the humans here on their own merits. Wolfen may also come from a more primitive culture but are both eager and able adapt to the advanced weapons and armor that can be found here. In terms of magic they are relatively new as a culture to such things though they have as much capacity for it as most other races and find no objection to acquiring magical knowledge. Their abilities with psychic powers are also on a par with humans.
  • Racial Abilities and Complications
  • Code of Honor Wolfen society places great value on justice and rule of law meaning all Wolfen live by a strict code of honor.
  • Distinctive D-Bee While Wolfen are generally humanoid in form they share a great many features with that of wolves and could never pass for human and therefore are subject to extreme prejudice in any CS Territory. They suffer a -4 Charisma with CS citizens.
  • Natural Weaponry Wolfen possess sharp teeth and claws which do Strength + d6 damage.
  • Non-Standard Physiology Due to their size and partial canine physiology, Wolfen find it difficult for him to find armor he can use. Purchases and repairs are at least doubled in cost, and there’s no way he can manage a Glitter Boy suit or other power armor built for a typical humanoid frame.
    He also suffers −2 to checks made to operate a vehicle or its weapons not refitted for his race. Any gear gained from an Iconic Framework is assumed to be custom-built for the character.
  • Size +1 Wolfen typically range between 7 and 9 feet in height and can weigh up to 500 lbs.
  • Superior Senses Wolfen have a keen sense of smell and hearing. They gain a +2 bonus to Notice rolls involving smell or hearing.
  • Superior Strength Wolfen are powerfully built and start with a d6 Strength.
  • Swift Wolfen are swift runners and gain a +2 Pace and a +1 die increase for Running.

River Trolls

The River Troll is described as large humanoid creatures with bulbous eyes, bulging noses, tails and hairy ears. River trolls rifted to Rifts along the Pecos River in Texas.
  • Dehydration: The River Troll must spend one out of every 48 hours in water or become automatically fatigued each day until they are incapacitated; the day after that, they perish.
  • Low Light Vision: The River Troll’s large eyes allow them to see in the dark. Ignore attack penalties for dim or dark lighting.
  • Regeneration (Slow): The River Troll make a natural healing roll once a day. The rough traveling, no medical attention, or rain conditions do not impose modifiers, intense heat and cold impose −2 modifiers as normal.
  • Semi-Aquatic: Gain a Fatigue level every hour the River Troll remains submerged; on reaching incapacitated, must make a successful Vigor roll every 15 minutes or drown; Fatigue recovers one lever per 15 minutes back in air.
  • Stench of an Outsider: River Trolls not only carry the stink of the swamp, but also the prejudice human folklore bestows upon them. When dealing with other races they suffer a −4 Charisma penalty.
  • Tough: River Trolls are big and tough skinned. They start with a d6 in Vigor instead of a d4.

Ulfang Hounds

These wolfish creatures are known for their ferocity in battle, using both weapon and claw to devastate their opponents. Their howls curdle the blood and cause even the most battle hardened of opponents to freeze in their tracks. Despite their ferocity in battle, the Ulfang are generally a noble race of creatures who travel in large packs, and live in dens deep in the forests. Range between 6 ft. to 9 ft. tall.
  • Battle Roar: Once per encounter, the Ulfang can let out a blood curdling roar which causes opponents in a Medium Burst template to make a Spirit roll or become Shaken.
  • Fast: Ulfang have a base Pace of 10.
  • Loyal: Ulfang will never abandon a member of their pack. This includes any character they deem worthy of their protection.
  • Natural Weapon (Claws): Ulfang do Str+d6 with their sharp claws.
  • Primal Intellect: Ulfang are a savage race, not as intelligent as others. Their Smarts die requires two points per step to raise during character creation, and two advances to raise the attribute during game play.
  • Ulfang suffer a −4 charisma penalty when dealing with Humans.
  • Superior Strength: Ulfang are incredibly Strong. They begin with a d8 in Strength, and may increase their Strength to d12+2 via normal advancement.

Enigmatic is the best term to define the Terrock; bipedal creatures similar to birds of prey who make their homes in Eyries high in the mountains
and hills of the Shifting Rocky Mountains, where they practice sorcery.
  • Avian: Terrock can Fly At base Pace; may “run” as per the Savage Worlds Monstrous ability. The have a Climb of 0.
  • Bloodthirsty: Terrock are Bloodthirsty (Hindrance - Minor).
  • Eagle Eyes: Terrock enjoy a +2 bonus to Notice rolls involving sight.
  • Frail: Terrock tend to have a frail frame. They suffer −1 Toughness.
  • Keen Minds: Terrock are extremely intelligent. They begin with a Smarts of d8, and may raise it to a d12+2 via normal advancement.
  • Natural Sorcerers: Terrock are gifted in the arcane arts. They start with an Arcane Background of their choice.
  • Terrock suffer a −4 Charisma penalty when dealing with Humans.

The Riva—or Kin, as they commonly call themselves— look to be bipedal rats standing 3 to 4 feet in height.
  • Hard to Hit: Riva are adept at using their surroundings to avoid getting hit in combat. They begin play with the Dodge Edge.
  • Keen Hearing: Riva have a +2 to Notice checks involving sound.
  • Nimble: Riva are extremely agile. They begin with a d8 in Agility, and may raise it to d12+2 via normal advancement.
  • Nocturnal: Riva have the Low light Vision Monstrous ability. They ignore penalties for Dim and Dark Lighting.
  • Riva suffer −4 Charisma when dealing with humans.

Blood Ogres

(Note: Drust is a Blood Ogre. Rare in Rifts Earth, requires GM approval.)

These creatures are almost suicidal in their fighting habits, doing just about anything for a meal. Their skin is a dark shade of red and their form is either bloated or muscular. Any who have faced the creatures before and emerged triumphant will tell you that they go down much easier than a normal Ogre. However, the Blood Ogre's own life fluid acts as a vengeful weapon after the
creature is destroyed. Blood Ogres will eat just about anything as long as it’s still alive. These smaller than typical Ogres range from 7 ft. to 9 ft. Tall.

Attributes: Plus 2 die types to use in STR or Vigor.
Skills: Starts with Fighting d6
Pace: 5
Hindrances: Vengeful (Major)
Edges: Sweep

Special Abilities:
• Armor +1: Thick Skin
• Boiling Blood: When a Blood Ogre is killed, all adjacent creatures suffer 4d6 damage. MD on Rifts Earth. Those within a Medium Burst Template make an Agility roll or suffer the same damage. Blood Ogres also add a +4 bonus to resist the effects of hot weather.
• Size +2: Blood Ogres tend to be about 7 feet tall and are particularly bloated or strong creatures.

Kin to goblins and hobgoblins, Bugbears are large, and often nasty creatures who are surprisingly quiet when they need to be. Their big stature makes them intimidating, but their true danger lies in their hunter-like instincts. While they are by no means intelligent, the deceptive nature makes them worthy foes.

Skills: Free Intimidation d6
Pace: 6

Special Abilities:

• Strong: By nature, Bugbears are very muscular. They gain a free d8 in the Strength Attribute. This Attribute can be raised to a
d12+2 through Advances.
• Silent Hunter: These beasts are naturally sneaky. Bugbears start with a free d6 in the Stealth skill.
• Infravision: Much like Goblins, Bugbears can see on the infrared spectrum, halving
penalties for bad lighting.
• Dumb: Bugbears are not the brightest of creatures, making any Smarts roll suffer a -2 penalty.
• Outsider: Bugbears are shifty. They gain the Outsider (Minor) Hindrance.

Hyena Men (Tuskers)

In many fantasy settings, Hyena Men are common enemies to beginning adventurers. However they can also be a lot of fun to play as. Below is a list of racial abilities for a player character Hyena Man.

• Pack Tactics: Hyena Men are used to working together as a team. Wildcard Hyena Men gain the Common Bond Edge for free.
• Expert Hunter: Free d6 Tracking and Hyena Men add +2 to Notice Rolls when using their sense of smell.
• Infravision: Hyena men can see along the infrared spectrum, halving penalties (round down) for bad lighting.
• Slow of Wit: Hyena Men still retain a lot of their animal nature, including their lack of intelligence. Their Smarts rolls suffer a -2 penalty.
