GM Poll 2nd Quarter 2018
Trailblazers, please vote sometime in this last week of June (poll closes July 1st).

How to “rate” the GM, their Duties:
• Post Rate
• Notify Players via Hangouts of new posts.
• Be available to Players

☞ Maintain a GM post rate at a minimum of one adventure post per week.
☞ Have the IM contact info of each player in their group.
☞ Notify all players in the group via IM or PM of new GM posts, and other important updates.
☞ Be available for IM chat at least one day a week.

Note: The above is used to “rate” the GM. I hope that I succeeded you all in the mission of being your GM. Additionally, I hope that I presented a fun game.

The poll seems like it's out of order, but maybe 1 is good and 5 is bad in your world.
Whatever the top mark is, that's what I assign this game. I love the resource allocation aspect and the process of building something out of the wilderness. Great story.

I was the one who voted 2. In terms of pace and most things, I am fine with, but the monty haul nature of things erks me a bit, possibly due to my gaming style. This is why I have never bothered to get anything from the sheer amount of military resources we have found. At this rate, it feels like we would be able to build an entire city very quickly.

Fair point. Sorry about that. I was running things via the adventure building rules in the GM handbook, and those were the reward rolls that came up. I can cut back on those.

The rewards are pretty significant, but if you blow it up to a larger economic scale, we're trying to outfit the beginnings of a small city's military, bolster defenses, and trade for other goods. 500 military resources becomes an opportunity to trade to acquire building and food resources, etc. Considering that, I don't think the rewards are all that hefty. Yeah, that much credit-value is going to make the average PC fat and happy, but most of us are taking a little bit of a goody, then passing along the rest to the community cause.
I don't have as much of a problem with it as long as it stays framed as "this can be used to outfit the fort" rather than "genie grants your wish for the mega super blaster 9000 and a pub-crawling binge that would put Bacchus to shame."

Yeah, honestly, Ryder will probably end up donating a fair bit of his stash to the cause, once he's fully on-board. (Seriously, he'll never go through all those grenades on his own.) That said, you can also remember a few things:

1: If the table yields weapons or TW gear or somesuch... the bad guys should probably be equipping it, where it makes sense to do so.
2: You don't always have to roll on the Risks & Rewards table--it's just an option that ocmes up in the course of rolling for other stuff.
3: Gear that enemies are using can, at the very least, be damaged in the course of fighting them--it's fully fair to call for TD rolls on salvaged gear.

I haven't actually been rolling Risks and Rewards for every fight. Only when it comes up, honestly. It just...comes up a lot! LOL And the mega-weapon haul came up a couple times. Maybe the dice will be more stingy next time. But yes, you can always trade such things, make allies, etc.

Ah, well, then, it's probably a statistical glitch that'll come out in the wash. (I note that there's, like, a 5% chance of getting ANY Risks & Rewards result, and then only a 15% chance of getting the Weapons Cache.)

Another option I'm using for the Jokers--when you get a particular result, cross it off and either replace or just bump one step up the table.
