Janissary Brigandine Armor/Bandito Arms Branaghan Special Armored Overcoat (SWADE)

An item commissioned for the Western Empire’s elite Janissary units, a brigandine is a garment made of boiled leather lined with small oblong steel plates riveted to the fabric. This item incorporates a series of hook systems to allow more gear to be carried, more comfortably than a soldier's standard kit. The addition of two magic features imbued into the brigandine makes the armor more costly to service, but greatly improves the survivability and carrying capacity of these elite soldiers. This brigandine is the functional equivalent of a Bronze Corslet.
GM Note: This is balanced to be useful in a standard SWADE fantasy game. While advantageous over standard gear, it is not overpowering. For use in Rifts, add +1 Armor and +2 Toughness.

Alternate Option for Rifts

The overcoat or long-coat — also known as a duster — is a favorite among cowboys, gunfighters and sheriffs because it is both stylish and offers a surprising amount of protection, as well as making an excellent raincoat (waterproof and a good article of clothing in which to hide a shotgun or rifle under). This custom version is upgraded from the one normally sold to customers of Bandito Arms. It is actually the model originally made for the mythical "Branaghan" and is widely used by the enforcers of that organization.

The entire coat is lined with (relatively) lightweight armor padding with plates over the shoulders and torso (most often concealed under the fabric). It offers 8 small but usable internal pockets (four on each side).

Northern Gun Streetwolf Special Armored Tactical Suit
With multiple pockets in this lightly armored suit, this is a great undersuit for use by power armor pilots wishing to have some protection while out of their power armor temporarily. It is also popular among security personnel under tactical plate armor like the Huntsman Medium Personal Armor. It provides protection and replaces the padded undersuit while maintaining the same protection and increasing tactical gear carriage. Unlike most of this type, it does not restrict movement when used with armor. Replace the name and image with this.

C.S. Army Special Greatcoat
While stylistically different, the armored great coats issued to CS soldiers in the Old Chicago theatre are functionally the same as a Branaghan Special - including the extra pockets inside it's warm interior. Replace the name and image with this.

C.S. DS-1U Armored Duty Uniform
With multiple pockets in this lightly armored suit, this is a great undersuit for use by C.S. power armor pilots wishing to have some protection while out of their power armor temporarily. Unlike most of this type, it does not restrict movement when used with armor. It can be worn under any armor and often is. Also can be laundered like any other uniform. Replace the name and image with this.
