PDF Format

RFT was looking for a custom IF that controlled storms/wind that translated a Heroes Unlimited character he had once.

Pender suggested he use the Burster template and I thought it sounded fun so we worked on creating the "Tempest" an iconic framework of an elementally infused hero.

In the background I've also been working on a trade dress for our blog creations, so this seemed like a good chance to do that. I especially like it because it's new, not a translation of any existing Rifts stuff but still feels like it fits.

So here is the Tempest custom iconic framework with trade dress. It is a printable PDF on 8.5x11 pages. Graphics are 300dpi so it should print nicely in full colour but it is also layered so you can just print the text.

My questions
  • Anything you can see to improve the design?
  • Anything missing from the design?
  • Any glaring errors?
  • Any feedback on the mechanics of the IF itself?

Basic comments: You are missing something...now it is not surprising since it is not covered in SR, but bursters have a handful of sensory powers in Rifts...things like being able to sense fire and being to read the ashes to tell how old a fire that is out was.

The thing is, on this class, it could become a lot more important. You need an ability called "Whispers of the Wind" that lets you do a number of things like tell when a natural storm is coming or feel major air displacements.

Aside from that..it may not really hurt them, but possible a non-fire based burst (like a concussion grenade) might temporarily scatter the elemental form.

You might also consider the Djinni weakness...namely if they are placed inside a small sealed area they might have power problems.

Not commenting on the iconic framework itself but instead on the template. I think it looks really good and it's a distinct enough dress that you won't be stepping on anyone's toes. However can I suggest another color for the background for some reason it feels really uncomfortable to me to read black on gray especially with the lower part being a slightly darker gray.
