Description
A 15 year old healthy looking Latino always dressed in high quality clothing.

Background
You would be surprised how easy things are when you can just wish them into being. I remember it like yesterday when my gift came out. I was in fourth grade and being bullied by David Balmer. He kept making fun of me because my clothes where pretty ratty and stuff, and his clothes where all fancy and new. I was so upset the other kids had circled around me and where laughing with him like he was some kind of hero to them. I remember just wishing so hard that I had his nice clothes and people would leave me alone.

Well next thing you know David was just standing there naked as a jay bird and the whole class was looking at him confused. Then they started laughing at him. I thought I was home free! I got up and walked away no one such much as moved an inch to block me or anything.

But then it turned out no one could hear me or even see me unless I yelled real loud and jumped up in down in front of them. It took me a long time to figure out how to get home without the buss. When I did people were yelling at my mom saying I was a freak and I tried to kill David. I didn’t but people where real upset.

We had to move because of that I had ruined my mom’s life and everyone hated her every time I had an accident. I learned I could just wish for stuff and it would happen. But the worst part was a lot of the wishes went bad, and it seemed every time it would blow back on my mom.

Eventually I just started wishing I could control my wishes better. That worked pretty well, but it weakened my powers a lot. I don’t mind it was worth it, now my wishes do what I want them to, and have even been able to help my mom out. We are not poor anymore, and people only know about my gift if I want them to.

  • 2D6 EFFECT
    2 Catastrophe: Something goes terribly wrong. The GM must decide what, but some ideas are a new and permanent Minor Hindrance, the inability to use powers for several days, or an explosion of some sort. The backlash should be thematic if possible. If the hero tampers with dark forces for his abilities, for example, he might become corrupted or summon something sinister into the world. If he’s a weird scientist the device might explode for 3d6 damage in a Medium Blast Template, or he might develop a Quirk, Phobia, or other “madness.”

    3 Backfire: The power succeeds as with a raise but affects a different target with the worst possible results. A bolt hits a random friend, boost Trait increases an enemy’s skill or attribute, etc. If there’s no likely target, he’s Stunned instead. If the power has a Duration other than Instant, it lasts its full term and can only be negated by dispel (the caster can’t voluntarily end it herself).

    4–5 Short Circuit: The power fails but the Power Points allocated to it are spent, along with an additional 1d6 Power Points.

    6–8 Stunned: The caster is Stunned (see page 106). She subtracts 2 from arcane skill rolls for the rest of the encounter (the penalty remains –2 even if she gets this result again).

    9–10 Overload: The character’s synapses crackle and overload with power. He takes 2d6 damage plus the cost of the power in Power Points, including any Power Modifiers the player declared.

    11 Fatigue: The character suffers Fatigue.

    12 Overcharge: The power draws ambient energy from the air, automatically succeeding against the target with a raise and costing the caster no Power Points!
