Poll: How To Proceed with SWADE

Okay, gentlemen, it's time to talk about SWADE. Once our current adventure wraps up (which may be as soon as this quarter, or may be next quarter, depending on our pace from here on out), my intention is to run the plot point campaign from the Arcana & Mysticism book (with some variations), which takes place primarily in the Magic Zone and Psyscape. There will definitely be opportunities for visiting other locales (the Birchers, writers of Arcana & Mysticism, said that the plot point campaigns in all three of the upcoming books were actually designed to be playable together, as part of one, large, meta-plot, if desired), but Psycsape and the Magic Zone are primarily where we will be focused.

On the AMA that @Venatus Vinco set up with the Birchers, they mentioned that the plot point campaign was designed to begin at Novice (for IFs, Seasoned for MARS) and then work its way up, which presents some interesting choices for our group.

As I see it, we can either: (1) start fresh with new, Novice characters (my current preferred choice), (2) convert current characters over to SWADE and I will adjust the difficulty of the encounters accordingly (not a bad choice, either, and could allow for some higher-flying action sooner in the campaign than might otherwise be possible; converting your characters could be tough, however, given all the extra goodies and HJ rolls they've gotten along the way), or (3) restart current characters at Novice in the new campaign (I would only do this if you all really, really wanted to play your current characters as Novices again for some reason; this is easily my least favorite of the three options).

Please go ahead and cast your vote for how you'd like to proceed. If you have another idea that isn't covered by these three options, please go ahead and post it below.

In case anyone is wondering, @Stoic will be joining us for the game, whenever it kicks off.

As an addendum to my initial post (because I didn't think of it at the time), if the group decides to keep their current characters, we may do a balancing to bring some of the lower-Ranked characters up a bit to be more in the same range as the higher-Ranked characters. That's all math we can figure out later if we need to, though.

I'm thinking I'd want to have Deezy finally get Klattatech Heavy Industries started after this adventure. Seems like the pieces for it are falling into place, and it'd open up opportunities to try new things.

As PEG are intent on screwing over Grackletooths, I will definitely be playing something different

I don't count. As much as I'd like to jump back in and see Tyraxas flourish, I'd probably (if I were jumping back in) be on board with starting a new character. Since I'm not jumping back in, especially since @Stoic is joining, my vote is moo.
I'm sorry I couldn't see all of this to conclusion.

I am all for new characters.

My thought was more about having the current characters retire as NPCs in a town that they have established. Opening up businesses and trades. Even training the next generation of 32nd members.

Whenever the new players venture back into the town/waystation and the visit an establishment, then the NPCs get to be roleplayed alongside the current PCs.

No reason we can't have Castle show up on one of our adventures later. :)
