Shop till you drop: The thread for your off camera shopping.

Post by Imperator »

So What this thread will do is list the vendors and prices available where you are. As we move to new places I'll post what's there as interest dictates. Like a major town you're doing stuff in I'll have a post ready but some Podunk village you're just passing through... not so much, :)

Castle Refuge: NGR Sales and Service

With a quick smile Chuck Jones adjusts his armor and slumg his rifle behind him. Of course all his gear was NGR made as if he was a poster child of what the best gear the NGR has to offer. He might look merc, but he is all sales man, “Friend, come check out the newest shipment from the NGR. Need some armor we got it... Need a rifle, or vibroblade we got you covered.” He sweeps his hand behind him at the many crates, ”Just remember if you buy NGR, you’ll get one of the most durable and reliable pieces of equipment you ever bought... Only a 10% markup for you Legionnaires so it is a steal of a deal!”

All NGR Personal equipment and weapons are available at a 10% increase of what is listed. Common equipment or personal tech equipment without a manufacture designation can be purchased as a “NGR” brand. For the more hi tech equipment make common kn roll at -1. Most likely basic weapons and armor will fall under this, but use their rarity modifiers instead of the hi tech modifier listed above. For a 3k donation into the NGR Children against gargoyles fund you can gain a +2 bonus. Success he has it in stock. Fail nothing at the moment. If you are buying bunch of similar equipment just roll once and use the worse modifier.

For Savage Rifts weapons and armor of the NGR verity, make a networking roll at the items own modifier. Success he has it in stock at a 10% increase of what is listed. Fail, he does not have it in stock. Roll for each item.

On Rare occasion he will deign to sell something from a competitor. The role for this is made with an additional -2 to the items rarity and if he has it the item will be sold at a 25% mark up. Only one such check may be made per character.

High-end German engineering makes NGR equipment easier to repair and maintain—if you can get your hands on the expensive, imported replacement parts. Gain a +2 on Repair rolls using genuine Triax parts but suffer a −2 on Availability rolls to find Triax products or parts in North America—and the price can easily be double or triple listed amounts.

Castle Refuge: Workshop of Terra Silverforge
Pender Lumkiss wrote: Wed Dec 25, 2019 7:19 pm In the TL castle’s main throughfare is a small store front decked out in a steampunk’s wet dream. Copper pipimg Edison light bulbs, technowizardry crystals of all sorts adorned the store front. A young red headed man, whose eyes betrayed a sense of experience beyond his years manned the counter. Talyer Thomas, red headed, and freckled faced with a pair of glasses smiled at one who came up.

His standard well practiced greeting got things rolling and set expectations for the shop prices, “Welcome to Silverforge’s shop. Our wares meet expectations in the vampire kimgdoms to the south, and can meet your expectations as well. Our prices are just about the best you will find, and everything is of course built Forge Tough... Ahem only a 10% markup for the TL members here, 30% if you need Tera to put a personal touch only legendary technowizards have learned.”

Feel free to RP as you will and purchase any TW item with a small markup. Follow the same guidelines as above.

Zak walks up to the sales Rep, Mr, Chuck Jones. He looks at him and smiles:

”I'm here to buy, not to eat you.” That's an old Psi Stalker joke.

”I want to see some of your western guns. I know you make knock offs of the Western stuff, and also some more modern firearms. I saw someone with a pair of Desert Eagles on the range and I was impressed with them." I was also using a computer an it mentioned a Pistol named La Matt? do you happen to have one of them?"

Aos and Jackal stand at the counter of the munitions armory. He puts the rifle down on the counter hesitantly. “ Well I can't really afford any of this fine equipment now.” Aos was saying “The pay rate as a Legionnaire and the bonus sure was nice, more Creds than I’ve ever had. This gear is pricey, But here's my Credit chip for a donation for those children. They're always the ones that suffer the worst in all this. " he stated looking at Jackal but remembering his own not so distant childhood, then back to the dealer. Chuck Jones, the gunsmith across the counter smiled and took the Credit chip from Aos’ hand and went to the register data receiver to scan it. “ Thank you for showing me around that rifle I'll take your advice and go for the range over the impact damage. I should have enough for it by the time we get back; if we come back.” He spoke to his companion also inspecting the new tools of his trade. Aos had learned a lot about modern weapons in a short time, and Jackal knew his way around firearms. Having thoroughly examined all the available gear Jackal dismisses himself in order to change his attire before the meeting in 1A. It may be some time before the group was back at the Castle, so Aos hurries from the armory to his makeshift den on the outskirts of a local farm to break it down and pack for the journey. On the way out he is sure to visit Terra Silverforges’ shop to see if indeed he stocked his shelves with the more exotic wares of Techno Wizardry and power items. yes the shop was filled with wondrous items, some unique even, and also too expensive for him today. Aos longingly peers at the Psionicly powered handgun and promises himself to get one as he exits the fanciful shop. He has always made do with what he had. From there it is strait to his camp to pack, and then directly to the briefing room having inventoried and readied his gear.

Networking- Persuation: 1d4!-2: [4!, 1]-2 = 3
Donation for future purchases- 3,000Cr
(For a 3k donation into the NGR Children against gargoyles fund you can gain a +2 bonus.) Next time at shop

The last reporter was ushered out of former President Fitches office, at his Texas estate. Even retired, the man had almost daily press conferences.

The elder black man sighed and looked back and forth between the liquor cabinet and his android Secret Service protection agent, Jack Hall.

Silently Jack stood at attention in his experience suit wearing hidden armor and weapons. He remained quiet. Content to protect and serve.

To a now empty room, other than Fitch and Jack:

“The United States does not have a monopoly on crazy people Jack. It's not the only country that has psychosis. And yet we kill each other in these mass shootings at rates that are exponentially higher than anyone else. Well, what's the difference? The difference is that these guys can stack up a bunch of ammunition in their houses, and that's sort of par for the course. I’m sick of guns. Don’t get me wrong. I understand the second amendment. But. These NRAF types act like an amendment can’t be amended. Do they not understand what an amendment is?!”

Stepping out from his desk Fitch moved away from the cabinet and closer to Jack Hall.

“What do you think Jackal? Is it insane of me to try and keep mentally unbalanced people from possessing high caliber and Military grade Energy weapons!”

A short moment passed before the US Secret Service Agent, and artificial intelligence, Android Jack Hall responded.

“Sir. I’m not sure you’d appreciate my take on gun control.”

Former President Firch stopped pacing and eyed the Android.

“What do you mean?”

“Hunting and target practice don’t require energy weapons. Unless you are hunting tanks. So. Regardless of one’s mental state of mind, if you’re hunting tanks ...you seem suspect to me sir. ... I dunno sir. I’m just your security detail. If you are done here sir I’ll escort you back to the main family complex.”

The former President eyed the AI a moment longer, then grinned.

“Straight talk. Heh. Okay Jackal. Let’s go see the missus.”

——

Jack nods at the half elf psi Druid, ”We will come back, have faith.”

As they leave the shop Jackal removes the JA-9 from his back and hands it out to Aos, Jackal then stated.

“It’s great for hunting tanks. If I need it I’ll let you know. While we are out on this assignment you may use this. This is a Juicer Assassin variable frequency laser rifle. The JA-9 is based on old technology... course long ago it was called by another name, it’s max effective ....”

As they walk the tall former service man gives Aos details on the rifle.

LOANED TO AOS
• JA-9 Variable Laser Rifle (Range ‪30/60/120‬, Damage 4d6, ROF 1, AP 3, M.D.C.) with 3 thirty round magazines. (Pg 101 TLPG).
"Ah ha, ha, ha. How indeed? You looks to know borgs and bots. Have ye ever seen a construct such as I? NO!! No, I be special! Special I was. A thing of beauty. A thing of power. A thing like nothin' the Coalition or the best chop-shop coulda built. That was I. My reward for thinking. Tee hee. Can you believe it? My reward for just sitting in the throne and thinking. Ohhhh, thinking about anything. Bots were best thing. Best to think about, but anything would do. And after thinking and talking, ... oh, we were friends, you know? ... Best friends and this was my reward. Tee, heee, heee, heeee ..." - James T (NPC Account)
