1-3: after serving in a military, paramilitary, militia, or security force for some time, your hero has some solid combat training. She gains +3 Skill Points which may be spent on Athletics, Fighting, or Shooting in any combination.

4-6: He’s traveled far and wide, and he knows a lot about the world that could come
in handy. Your character gains a +2 on any Common Knowledge rolls related to
geography and understanding the people and places of North America. He also
gains a +2 on Survival and Networking checks in North America.

7-9: Though few and far between, the cites of Rifts Earth are the hubs of what remains of civilization, vital as sources of information. Your character understands the ebb and flow of the streets and alleys, gaining the Streetwise Edge. She is also good at creating fakes of necessary papers, badges, and the like; she’s got experience and training in forgery (treat as Common Knowledge), with a +2 to related checks.

10-11:Functional machines and technology often mean the difference between life and death in the world of Rifts®. Fortunately for any group your hero runs with, she’s pretty good with tech, giving her a one die type increase for the Repair skill, and the Mr. Fix It Edge.

12-14:Your character is inherently gifted at larceny, possessing the Thief Edge without concern for requirements. He also gains +1 Skill Point to spend on Athletics, Stealth, or Thievery as he chooses.

15-16: With a nose for opportunities, horse-trading, and five-fingered discounts, your
hero is the go-to person for getting what’s needed in a crunch. He has the Scrounger
Edge.

17-18: Though lots of folks can jump behind a wheel or grab a stick, your hero understands the nuances of guiding a machine effectively through the worst conditions. She gains the Ace Edge, or Combat Ace, if she already has Ace, as well as a one die type increase in her choice of Boating, Driving, or Piloting.

19-20: You may choose any one of the results on this table.

Attribute Increase - Smarts: During character creation, the species increases a particular attribute (Agility, Smarts, Spirit, Strength, or Vigor) one die type. This increases the Trait’s maximum by one as well.
Inhuman Physiology (-1): The species has unique physiology, causing problems for those unfamiliar with their biology, and medical supplies or cybernetics designed for human use. For 1 point the race has Near-Human Physiology giving a −1 penalty to Healing skill rolls and cybernetics checks involving installation, repair, and modification.

The Spanner

INTERLUDE #1

LIVING SPACE

The rear mezzanine of the operator's shop shows signs of rehabilitation.

The warehouse style rear windows look out to an abandoned Elevated Train platform. Any Intact glazing is covered with ragged pages from old books and magazines. A mostly intact sequence of panels is a Fenoddi codex on the alien martial art of Nodox

Where light spills onto the floor threw paper is a yoga mat and a bizarre look heavy bag

The Kitchenette is a hazard of hot plates and Bunsen burners. Nestled among the heating elements is a coffee maker that has been converted into a reverse osmosis filter. A chaotic network of PVC tubing conducts water from innumerable leaks in the badly compromised roof to the apparatus and sink drain.

The glazing that looks out to the shop floor is an ever changing note board of glass and sharpie. The handwriting is the blocky sans serif of a trained Draftsman. The notes are a hodgepodge of differential equations, lewd drawings annotated in Technocan and project timelines.

There is a nearly unused cot covered with stolen electrical components. The intermittent 4 hours of required sleep happens in a broken down recliner at the edge of the yoga mats

The other one? He is country AF. But he's got a real Chumba Wumba inside just waiting to chest burst...IDK. Somewhere up north where they can't grow clues?...

Yeah I gotta go too, I have some E-clips to balance out my hustle with my flow.

VACCEINE HEIST INTERLUDE

Task 2. Survey the outside with the cameras and review the footage with Lester. This is a Technical or Stealth Task. This does not require going onto site (just around it). Failure or Critical Failure here means being identified.

Spanner uses a combination of Technical skills along with Piloting HexCAT to place hidden cameras, review footage and create a spreadsheet of identified individual schedules and regular deliveries.

Spanner prepares by scrounging up the material to make a "burbs gullisuit" for the HexCAT. It is a tangled mass of neutral colored cables, the finest locally sourced, garbage and dead rats.

To expedite review, she attaches motion sensors to the cameras that are linked to LesterCAM

Spanner makes use of HexCATs climbing claws and SwapBot's short range flight to place cameras in hard to reach places.

The Effect is four individual routs are known and a bonus is applied to future "on site" checks.

Spanner does these things in the cocky, VERY enthusiastic manner that the others have grown used to. But, she is a bit more amped up than usual. Her brain brain topography literally changes! As it snaps into its new configuration it dumps a cocktail of euphoric brain chemistry not all of which is entirely human.

SPANNER F&G TABLE

1) Paper Route: Add two die types to either the Boating, Driving, Piloting, or Riding skill and start with one vehicle or mount of choice (no robot combat vehicles).

2)Wearable Robotics Platform: Spanner has upcycled a old style, analog Brawl Bot control rig. Your hero may choose any one suit of Body Armor and one of the modifiers listed on the Body Armor table in the Hero’s Journey section.

3)Platonic Solid State of Mind : Spanners unique brain chemistry matures. She adds one die type to Smarts and two die types to any three Smarts-linked skills.

4) Anomalous Metabolism: Your hero is a survivor. Begin with the Fast Healer Edge, gain a free reroll on the Death & Defeat Table, and halve all recovery times from the table

5) Charmingly Fluent: Begin with the Linguist Edge. Gain +1 Persuasion with native speakers of a language foreign to your hero, and Reactions begin two steps higher

6) Custom Chrome: Spanner redesigns custom cyberware to better mesh her unique physiology. Choose up to 2 Strain of Cybernetic Systems, and add two points to maximum Strain

7): Robotic Resurrectionist. Your hero has an uncanny affinity with upcycling robots. Gain the Robot Brawler League Controller Edge twice and increase the default Size of companion robots to 3.

8) Student of Alien Martial Arts: Spanner is fascinated by the Fernoddi martial art Nodox. Add two die types to Fighting. Your hero gains a personal Close Combat weapon of choice or Trademark Weapon for a starting melee weapon.
