  • Uncanny Reflexes: -2 to be attacked and +2 to evasion when aware.
Combat-Relevant Edges & Abilities:
  • Arcane Marksman: If the caster doesn't move in a turn and activates no more than a single bolt or similar damage dealing power as her first action, she may add a +1 bonus to her Arcane Skill roll, or ignore up to 2 points of penalties from Called Shots, Cover, Scale, or Speed.
  • Bizarre Physiology: Zembahk physiology gives a −4 penalty to Healing checks. Compatible medical supplies/services cost quadruple listed price.
  • Champion: +2 damage vs. supernaturally evil creatures.
  • Cosmic Confluence: Freely convert between PPE and ISP for activating powers. These converted PP must be spent immediately.
  • Your hero can sense when something bad is about to happen. When rolling for Surprise (page 108), he adds +2 to his Notice roll to act in the first round. With a raise, he starts the encounter on Hold.
    In other situations not covered by the Surprise rules (a sniper shot, pit trap, poisoned drink, etc.), Danger Sense gives him a Notice roll at −2 (or +2 if a Notice roll is usually allowed) to detect the hazard and take appropriate action. If this was an attack and the hero makes his Notice roll, the foe doesn’t get The Drop against him.
    : Notice roll at +2 to sense ambushes or similar events.
  • Low Light Vision: Ignore penalties for Dim or Dark illumination.
  • Spiritual Awareness: Wormy senses supernatural, evil, ethereal, and energy beings, and any beings using invisibility within line of sight with Notice (Alertness applies).

Hudson nodded his approval and took another deep drag on the Cuban cigar.

President Theodore Roosevelt grinned: “You earned them my boy. Take a handful when you go. I told you I wanted you to A: protect United States interests, B: stabilize Cuba, and by golly you even went farther and C: held free elections! Amazing work Major Hudson Blackwell! Simply amazing.”

The two quietly enjoyed brandy and the cigars.

“What’s next Teddy?”

“Hrmmm oh, well. About that. Last year I got the bureau of investigation thing started up like you suggested good boy. You were right. Unlike the CIA, congress and the rest were okay with an F B I having law enforcement jurisdiction on the homeland. Good call my boy. Yes royal job. The director of the bureau has encountered a bit of a snag. You see, hrmm, well you see…”


Hudson Blackwell leaned forward in his chair and stared at the President.

“This better not be about Geist damn it.”


Roosevelt looked pained and removed his glasses. Rubbing his eyes he then put the glasses back on and loudly cleared his throat.

“It’s those damn Russians Hudson. I swear they’re all witches. They stole the Abraxlidone Stone from Antarctica and killed everyone at the Exile Base…”


Slamming his fist down on the chair proved to be a bad idea. The chair broke into pieces and Hudson had to stand up quickly as the plush wood and leather chair fell apart.

The side door of the Oval Office opened and a Secret Service agent poked his head in.

Roosevelt waved the agent away.

“Look Hudson you’re a damned dragon. I’m sure you can track down Victoria and recapture her. I…”

“You! You are a fool. Damn it Teddy.”


Grabbing a handful of Cuban cigars Hudson Blackwell stormed out of the office.



“That went as well as could be expected. Do you think...”


Roosevelt looked over at the red headed agent.

“Yes Agent Fell. Yes it did Daxon. Hudson will do it. He’ll go talk to the director and figure things out. Now go finish your part in this debacle.”

Need to catch up? I will wait until everyone has a chance to do that. Otherwise on February 6 (Sunday) I will drop a post for the Black Company (Day Two) travel to Fissure. It’s a simple and short post as I foresee us being more involved in the Legion Strike Team Posts.

I will hold off on dropping the Mass Battle post (written & ready) of the BC attacking the town of Fissure until after we conduct the Legion Strike Team posts.

Gear: Basically the same, the armor will need updated as he is no longer allowed cyborg armor signature item so will rewrite it as heavy armor with the same modes.

Advancements & Edges:
  • Hindrance: Brute (Link Athletics to Strength instead of Agility (including resistance). Short Range of any thrown item increased by +1. Double that for the adjusted Medium Range, and double again for Long Range.)
  • Hindrance: Martial Artist (Unarmed Fighting +1, fists and feet count as Natural Weapons, add d4 damage die to unarmed Fighting attacks (or increase die a step if you already have it).)
  • Hero’s Journey: Education 12 - Battle d6, and Command
  • Hero’s Journey: Experience & Wisdom 12 - Background edge ignoring requirements - Arcane Background (Gifted) - Warrior’s Gift (self only -2)
  • Bonus - Hero’s Journey: Training 3 - +3 skill points for Combat Skills
  • Bonus - Hero’s Journey: Experience & Wisdom 15 - Professional edge ignoring requirements - Adept
  • N1: Power Points
  • N2: Strength
  • -- GM Fiat Semi-Advancement: +1 Athletics (d12+3 total)

  • 2D6 EFFECT
    2 Catastrophe: Something goes terribly wrong. The GM must decide what, but some ideas are a new and permanent Minor Hindrance, the inability to use powers for several days, or an explosion of some sort. The backlash should be thematic if possible. If the hero tampers with dark forces for his abilities, for example, he might become corrupted or summon something sinister into the world. If he’s a weird scientist the device might explode for 3d6 damage in a Medium Blast Template, or he might develop a Quirk, Phobia, or other “madness.”

    3 Backfire: The power succeeds as with a raise but affects a different target with the worst possible results. A bolt hits a random friend, boost Trait increases an enemy’s skill or attribute, etc. If there’s no likely target, he’s Stunned instead. If the power has a Duration other than Instant, it lasts its full term and can only be negated by dispel (the caster can’t voluntarily end it herself).

    4–5 Short Circuit: The power fails but the Power Points allocated to it are spent, along with an additional 1d6 Power Points.

    6–8 Stunned: The caster is Stunned (see page 106). She subtracts 2 from arcane skill rolls for the rest of the encounter (the penalty remains –2 even if she gets this result again).

    9–10 Overload: The character’s synapses crackle and overload with power. He takes 2d6 damage plus the cost of the power in Power Points, including any Power Modifiers the player declared.

    11 Fatigue: The character suffers Fatigue.

    12 Overcharge: The power draws ambient energy from the air, automatically succeeding against the target with a raise and costing the caster no Power Points!

Yeah,
Looses a lot of his power
Strength -10
Vigor -5
Skills down a ton.
Edges down a ton.
Toughness dropped about half.

But this one has the core idea back from the original of getting stronger from battle. Once a battle begins he has unlimited potential.
