Background
Zed Zdyb, or as her parents named her, Sasha, was born in Chi-Town. Both of her parents were extremely talented engineers, specializing in arms and armor. This earned them a rather fine living, all things considered. Zed inherited her parents intelligence and aptitudes, and started making herself toys out of scrap materials at 5. At 7, she started making things that worked in ways her parents couldn't understand, that seemed to defy the laws of physics.

Fearing (correctly) that the young Sasha had somehow learned to tap into arcane energies, her parents took Sasha and fled with the help of Erin Tarn. While initially moving to Lazlo, the Zydb family had a difficulty finding employment - there was little call for the design or manufacture of armaments. They left and moved to Tolkeen, a decision that would be ultimately disastrous, but for almost fifteen years was an absolute dream for Zed.

A rising star in the TW College of Engineering, Zed spent her days developing new an exciting ways to meld arcane and machine for the good of her people. When the war threatened, though, she decided that rather than just make weapons for others to fight she should do her part. Claiming her latest prototype arms and armor for her own use, she drilled alongside the Tolkeen forces and proved to be an apt sharpshooter.

The war, as many know, did not go well. Largely ignorant of the more extreme measures taken by the Tolkeen, she places full blame on the coalition. Fighting to the bitter end to protect the last of the civilians, she left with one of the last refugee groups for Castle Refuge.

yeah wicked pic for sure. It is like she is saying I do two things well. I blow stuff up and make awesome devices.

I did have an observation and maybe I missed it on the sheet. The TX-11 does have a str min of a d8 when it come to arcane skill rolls. So that would still leave a d6 str min for arcane skills.

    Kind of ironic that I have to take a strength increase to be able to use one of the strength enhancing armors. I need to for the Plasma Ejector though. I'd have preferred a TX-50 Light Rail Gun, and make her more of a sniper/rifleman than a heavy weapons specialist. Still, getting a free NG-E4 is nothing to complain about.

    Weird science is the exception to having to meet the unpowered strength requirements... so TW get a pass on it

      Ok, cool. I keep thinking that TW are Magic for some reason... at one point I was looking at Wizard. :roll:
      I might move that attribute over into Agility to free up some skill points/not be totally a klutz...
      Or Level Headed. Getting a good initiative is a good thing. Quick is kind of redundant with decent odds of getting a raise on Quickness, but Level Headed...

      Hmm. Another thought - while the Thunderer Combat Hammer does a whole bunch of damage (more than the plasma ejector even) she's not really a melee type... maybe drop some points from Fighting and put them somewhere else, and not buying the hammer frees up a whole bunch of cash, which I can use to convert the armor and/or get a couple of minor upgrades.

      "...now, I'm not sayin' I was ever much of a looker, but when a demo charge blows up in your face, it tends to make a mess a bit, as you can see. In truth I wa'n't expectin' to survive it, but here I am, thanks ta modern medicine an' a whole lotta credits paid on my behalf. See, I was workin' with this merc company out west a here. We was fighting all sorts a nasty. Now, I'm a demo expert, been doin' all my life - started with my daddy in the mines up north in Iron Heart, settin' up charges to clear rock and such. I joined up with the mercs 'cause... well, I was young an' stupid an' thought I was in love... ya know how it is.

      "Well, a year an' a half later I'm outta love but havin' the time of my life. We're out west an there's a whole platton o' nasty bearin' down on us. I've rigged a bridge to blow. Only, the remote detonator's not workin'. Now, my boys're fightin' 'gainst long odds to hold the baddies on th' bridge, but I know they're not gonna last long in that heat. So I do what I gotta do - I go back to the charge an' set up another detonator. Now lemme tell you - a demo expert hates nothin' more'n a bomb that don' blow when it's supposed to. it could be a dud, or it could jus' be a delay.... so I'm not a happy camper, but I'm not about ta let my boys up top get wiped out. I get most o'the way there when BOOM. Now, my arm'r takes up a good chunk o'the blast, but not near enough. I can feel my face melt, and shards o' composites just cut me to the bone. It's not jus' my face neither. Lost an arm, both legs, an' a whole mess o' innards.

      "Like I said, I figured I was done for. 'Parently some 'o my boys scraped up what was left o' me an' took up a collection. I'd jus' saved 'em an' they were generous... not enough to do a full conversion, no. That prolly woulda been kinder'n havin' ta look at this mess every mornin'. Still, it got me patched up, replaced my missin' bits with cybernetics, but not much else. One or two bionics - i'm not sure who it was that got gen'rous , 'cause as I'm recupin' from the surg'ries, my boys get in a 'nother fight and get wiped - eat'n by some bug men or some such. Well, I was left unemployed an' stil recupin' an' in a whole mess o' pain. So I joined the army. Three hots and a cot, an' I get paid well... or at least well enough to get my meds mostly regular. Which brings me back ta' my question - any chance you can score me some extra? I think I'll be in the field a while and don' wanna run out part way..."

      Yep, that's why the d4 is in quotes for those two - a self-reminder for later that they can't be improved upon without buying the d4 first. Also helped me to remember not to count them when doing my cross-tallies to make sure I had the right number of skill points (ended up making a spreadsheet to track the various sources/investments).
      I only included them because I wanted to mark down the various bonuses on them from cybernetics/charisma/F&G bonuses. I certainly hope to get more use out of Jack of All Trades than just those two. ;)
