SWADE Mind Melter Respec

Rebuilding Herra from the 7th SET "The Joker's"

Converting this character was a lot of work...if I had to do it again I'd keep the concept but rebuild from scratch.

Attributes:
Nothing really changed here

Skills
Picked up a few skill points not having to pay for 1 level of notice and combining survival and tracking. So I picked up Intimidation and bumped up Psionics from d8 to d10 (which I burned an advance for in the old build)

Edges
Sixth Sense is kind of borked due to the change in Danger Sense (the prerequisite) in SWADE.
Soul Drain is better in SWADE but when you can spend a benny for 5 PP why take a level of fatigue instead?
Major Psionics is only adjusted slightly to fit with SWADE, looks good
Rolled Elan on my HJ, still a good thing to have but with no EE it's no a god mod
Had some free abilities and edges from extra stuff given by the GM...left those out for now
Had some house rule psi-warrior edges, removed those

IF
Mental Resistance is the same
Can detect arcana as a free action and no ISP cost, for some reason MMs had to pay the cost before
Reroll failed Trait rolls when using Psionics...bad ass...no benny required

HJ
Additional ISP on HJ table only adds 5 ISP instead of 10 now

Starting Powers
Had to scrap clairvoyance replaced it with mind reading

Advances
N1: This was originally raising Psionics to d10...used extra skill points for that so went to d12 instead. What the hell.
N2: This was house rule psi-warrior initiate...+1 Spirit instead
N3: Was +1 Agility, took Strong Willed Instead
S1: This was pis-warior adept, took Iron Will instead
S2: This was +1 Spirit, swapped for +1 Agility
S3: Was Improved Psi-Blade a house rule edge...took Power Points Instead
S4: +1 Driving +1 Notice left this the same
V1: New Power (get 2 instead of 1!), originally took mind reading which I gained earlier so took mind wipe and mind link
V2: New Power (get 2 instead of 1!), originally took slumber and added boost/lower trait
Signature
Didn't have a signature but wanted the 1 EP for using OOC tags!

Edges & Abilities
  • Expanded Awareness (IF): Use detect arcana as a free action for no ISP cost
  • Major Psionic (IF): Gains +10 ISP (instead of the usual +5) from the Power Points Edge. Before attempting a psionics skill roll, Mind Melters may spend 2 ISP to gain +1 to the roll, or 4 ISP for +2; while on a ley line double this skill roll bonus and quintuple the effects of the Range Power Modifier.
  • Master Psionics (IF): Has access to Mega Power Enhancements
  • Master of Psionics (IF): Get a free reroll on all Trait rolls when using psychic abilities
  • Mental Resistance (IF): +4 to resist psionics and +4 armor against psionic attacks. This stacks with Arcane Resistance, arcane protection, and similar bonuses
  • Mentalist (HJ): +2 to Opposed Psionics Rolls
  • Soul Drain (HJ): Recover 5 Power Points for a level of Fatigue
  • Elan (HJ): +2 when spending a Benny to reroll a Trait roll
  • Danger Sense (Race): Notice roll at +2 to sense ambushes or similar events
  • ESP (Race): Serran ESP increases their Parry by +2
  • Psi-Blade (Hindrances): Manifest a psionic blade when using smite Str+Spirit, AP 6, MD
  • Sixth Sense (Hindrances): Begin round with a success, go on hold when sensing ambushes or similar events
  • Strong Willed (N3): +2 to resist Smarts or Spirit Tests
  • Iron Will (S1): +2 to resist and recover from powers
