Nightbane frequently travel with Mortal sorcerers, psychics, warriors, or other champions. But not every human has what it takes to run with in the supernatural world on an even footing. These are the champions of the mortal world, those who have the potential to stick it out and truly make a difference.
- ● Human Champion: Mortal Champions are humans and receive the free human edge.
● Heroic Nature: These humans are the best that mankind has to offer. They begin with 8 Attribute points instead of 5. This does not increase their maximum attribute limits.
● Protected by Fate: Those not willing or able to take advantage of opportunity are quickly culled by the forces they face. Mortal Champions begin with Great Luck (and respectively start with the 2 additional Light Bennies awarded from those edges.)
● Sharp Minds: Those who survive in the horrors of secret wars between supernatural evil have had to learn a thing or two. Mortal Champions begin with a Professional Edge of choice and 4 additional skill points.
● Legendary potential: Mortal champions can often be spotted even when they are young, able to do things others struggle with. Mortal Champions ignore rank restrictions for edges and powers both at creation and when selecting an advance. This also affects power selection through the New Powers edge, but does not allow them to select an edge or traits limited to once per rank multiple times.
● Arcane Diversity: A Mortal Champion may select Arcane Background (Psionics) at character creation.
