Special Abilities
  • Mutant: Similar to D-Bee above, mutants are spurned by many humans but the reaction is more often disgust than hostility. Even when accepted as members of human society they are often not welcome in the highest social circles and may have difficulty fully pursuing romantic and professional relationships. Many human communities that accept D-Bees still find human mutants off-putting, in these cases their Reaction starts at Uncooperative.
  • Outsider: A hulking brute is often feared and spurned by civilized society
  • Illiterate: Growing up in the wilderness this mutant has never learned to read or write.
  • Cyclopean: This mutant has a single oversize eye.
  • Big: The being is very large (he must also be least Size 2, see Size on page 105). He subtracts 2 when using equipment designed for smaller beings and cannot wear their armor or clothing. Equipment, armor, food, and clothing cost double the listed price.
  • Attribute Increase - Strength: During character creation, the species increases a particular attribute (Agility, Smarts, Spirit, Strength, or Vigor) one die type. This increases the Trait’s maximum by one as well.
  • Attribute Increase - Strength: During character creation, the species increases a particular attribute (Agility, Smarts, Spirit, Strength, or Vigor) one die type. This increases the Trait’s maximum by one as well.
  • Attribute Increase - Vigor: During character creation, the species increases a particular attribute (Agility, Smarts, Spirit, Strength, or Vigor) one die type. This increases the Trait’s maximum by one as well.
  • Toughness: The character has hardened skin, scales, or extremely dense tissue that increases his base Toughness by +1.
  • Size +2: The creature is larger than normal. Each point of Size adds directly to Toughness. Large species may have difficulty using equipment designed for more traditional humanoids. See page 105 for more on Size.
  • Barbarian Attributes: Add one die type to Strength and Vigor.
  • Barbarian Edges: Begin with the Alertness, Brawny, and Woodsman Edges.
