Special Abilities and issues of being a Mega Juicer
    • Internal Repair System: The bio-comp system managing the drugs and chemicals within the Juicer’s body also works overtime to ensure his continued health and good repair. The Juicer gains Slow Regeneration (a natural healing roll once per day). There’s a continuously replenishing supply of nanites and chemical concoctions available for “emergency repairs.” As an action, the Juicer can make a natural healing roll at +2 to heal Wounds; this costs one charge. The system holds a maximum of three charges and requires eight hours to recover one charge.
    • Super Endurance: Juicers begin with +2 Vigor die types; increase the Vigor Trait maximum an equal amount. They require only half the normal amount of sleep and gain +2 on all Fatigue checks.
    • Super Reflexes: Juicers begin with +2 Agility die types; increase the Agility Trait maximum an equal amount. They also begin with the Quick Edge.
    • Super Speed: Juicers cover enormous ground quickly, they double their base Pace and move twice the normal distance, horizontally and vertically, when Jumping. Juicers also have the Fleet-Footed Edge (meaning they have Pace of 14 with a d8 running die).
    • Super Strength: Juicers begin with +2 Strength die types, with no Trait maximum. They also begin with the Brawny Edge.
    • Uncanny Reflexes: Juicer reflexes are superhuman, granting them −2 to be hit by any attack they are aware of and +2 on Evasion rolls.
    • Cybernetics: Although it is possible to add cybernetics to the Juicer’s already hacked biology, there is a severe drawback: each point of Strain removes a point of Burn!
    • Death Wish: The Juicer knows he’s going to die, and he wants to go out magnificently, having done something folks remember and are inspired by. He has the Death Wish (Minor) Hindrance.
    • Drug-induced Euphoria/Tranquility: In order to keep the Juicer from burning out over a matter of days, the bio-comp constantly supplies a combination of psychotropic drugs and chemical inhibitors to keep him happy and calm. Juicers live in a state somewhere between mildly ecstatic and stoned, which causes −1 to all Smarts or Smarts- linked skill rolls in non-combat or low stress situations. On the first round of an unexpected combat or high-stress situation, the Juicer doesn’t gain the benefits of Uncanny Reflexes or Quick.
    • Psionics and Magic: The chemical cocktail inside the Juicer makes it impossible for him to use magic or psionics in any way.
    • Mega-Juicers are super-soldiers created by combining the powers of the bio-comp nanites with sub-dermal nanotech relays channeling ambient psychic energy through their body in a loop, turning them into nearly indestructible juggernauts! Mega-Juicers are Unstoppable. Permanently. Until they explode. The Juicer reduces his Burn by one as his life-force fuels the creation of an energy dynamo within. When a Mega-Juicer reaches the end of his lifespan due to Burn, his eyes begin to glow blazing white and his skin becomes scorching hot to the touch. Whether he goes out in a Blaze of Glory or is Incapacitated by an enemy attack, he combusts—dealing 4d12+12 Mega Damage to everyone and everything in a Large Blast Template.
    • UNSTOPPABLE -- Some beings, by virtue of sheer durability, can absorb massive blows. Unstoppable targets never suffer more than one Wound from a single attack; make any Soak rolls before applying this limit.
Starting Bennies: 3

Burn

Background --
Dedicated Misadventures of an Anti-Villain
  • You don't have to be crazy to become a Juicer, but it helps. Bloodthirsty - Ruthless - with a Death Wish.

Burn Santos ran with a rotten crew of Lonestar brigands and cutthroats as sinister and seditious highwayman all across the Pecos Empire. From about fourteen to twenty he pulled himself out of poverty and escaped an abusive father in Uvalde Texas. He amassed an impressive haul of weapons, armor and creds. Blood money spent on spreading further bloodshed.

Burn likes to drink his calories. It was while consuming a reckless amount of liquor in El Paso that he ran into his abusive father at a seedy run down dive where the drinks were strong and had to be to make the whores look at all appealing. Sitting at a table sloshed the brute saw the old man come in delivering something to the owner of the Salty Rat.

As the owner of the Salty Rat spoke to Burn's father the yet to become Juicer stood up abruptly enough to startle the patrons closest to him. The vibro knife flew through the air and cut through his fathers head before anyone realized Burn had thrown it.

The boot of the Cyber Knight hit Burn hard in the back and he was knocked to the floor landing face first in swill and saw dust.

The crackling intensity of the cyber blade held so close to his neck stilled his coming violent response. Burn didn't move a muscle and when shackled offered no resistance. Suddenly the killer in him felt tired. As if by killing his awful father after all these years had been what he needed to finally relax. Burn reflected that he should have just killed his father at fourteen.

Delivered to the El Paso law enforcement the Cyber Knight released his prisoner to them and explained Burn's crime of murder.

It was El Paso after all, not some Golden Age city of the past, the officers on duty who took Burn off the Knights hands released him after he offered to bribe them.

Burn underwent the Juicer process just days after he killed his father. He left the city of El Paso a few days after recovering from the process and headed towards northern Texas. He left with most of his credits spent - bribery and then medical costs of the process. He left feeling a different man. Physically of course, but also his burning desire to kill, rob and hurt others was gone. Not quite a redeemed man he just didn't feel the hatred anymore. More of a need to fight evil and those who hurt others.

The first person Burn happened across on the road out of El Paso happened to be the Cyber Knight that had taken him to the cops. After an initially awkward reunion the Knight asked Burn if he was interested in going with him and his group to fight bandits in the Pecos Empire.

The irony was not lost on him. He wasn't looking for redemption but could pay at it for a while.

You see, Burn is an Anti-Villain basically. The anti-villain is similar to a villain, but their evil actions are guided by more noble motives. They share the altruistic goal of heroes but can differ on the types of actions they are willing to take in order to reach it.

Burn wishes to rid the world of evil people like his abusive father.

The right reason — the wrong actions.

The anti-villain character has honorable motives but is willing to push into questionable moral territory. The anti-villain is driven by a high sense of morality, truly believing their actions are for the greater good. They don’t commit atrocities simply because it’s convenient, and most of the time, their actions align with those of the rest of the party. However, when there’s no other way to obtain their goal, the anti-villain is willing to get their hands a little more dirty than the others. When push comes to shove, the anti-villain may be willing to sacrifice an innocent life, claiming that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

Burn Santos doesn’t see himself as evil, doesn’t lose sleep over his murders. He sees himself as a reinvented man set upon the course of righting the wrongs of the world.

    By any means necessary.

Burn killed the Cyber Knight and his crew of do gooders after they grumped about Burn’s actions during a rescue mission.

Since then, up to now, the last few months he has worked alone and is seeking a payday and looking for wicked souls to slay.

As fond as he is of being a Mega Juicer he is like most Juicers, prolonged life appeals to him. Hints of a Prometheus Treatment will appeal to him.
