This system, procured for Steelcreek by his fellow Ranger and self-appointed trainer Newcastle, represents the bleeding edge of Coalition CQB technology. Designed for finesse instead of brute strength, the Scout FIWS is a high-powered, lightweight take on the classic Forearm Integrated Weapon System. The built-in NG-57s pack enough punch to allow its wearers to hang with physically superior foes, and advanced materials and electronic shock-absorbers keep the entire system light and responsive. The blades are plated with silver so as to be effective against a wide a variety of enemies, and the system is perfectly balanced, making it ideal for tricks, feints, and other finesse maneuvers. The Scout FIWS is very popular with the handful of Special Forces and Rangers who have gotten to field test it, and this set became available when its previous user found himself touring the inside of a particularly nasty critter's gullet. A supply officer named Gilette pulled some strings to get ahold of it and offered it to Newcastle in the hopes of scoring himself a date, and it was too late for him to retract the offer once he realized she didn't want it for herself but knew someone else who would be "perfect for it."
