Having a blast and so a well-deserved 5 from me.

As one point of constructive criticism, the Run mechanics weren't entirely a hit for me, primarily because it was a lot to try to absorb all at once, and seemed to leave the group kind of waiting on each other to make a decision at times. That said, I was dealing with lots of real life activity and trying to set up the New West game at the same time, so my attention was pretty scattered. And I do like how the Run rules gave everyone something to do and allowed us to cover a lot of ground in a relatively rapid manner. And I'm sure it would go smoother a second time through.

And certainly no way I could give you less than a 5 after that concert ... and the soundbooth. You'll be happy to know, the seven-fingered D-bee from the orgy has made her way to the New West, thanks to some creative writing by Max/Bullet Jones.

Great quarter. It's been awesome, especially how you took several throwaway comments and have spun a freaking adventure out of them! I mean, going after the Black Company!

I'll echo Cantrell's comments on the Run a bit. I love the idea, the set up/prep scene idea was great, but the Primary, Secondary rules got a bit complicated (and the Secondaries were often unnecessary, given how well everyone has been rolling). I like that you loosened up the rules for assisting, though, as it makes more narrative sense in something like this (as opposed to, say, a discrete action like picking a lock or something).

Overall though I really had a great time this quarter. Thank you.

  • Enemy: Play at the beginning of the game session. A villain of the GM’s choice becomes your character’s sworn enemy and you may not soak wounds caused directly by him. Starting now, you draw an extra Adventure Card each game session until the enemy is “retired.”
  • Epiphany: Something you never understood before suddenly “clicks.” You gain a d6 in any skill you previously did not have for the remainder of this game session.
  • Speedy Gonzales: Expend this card to gain +2 to your Pace for the rest of the scene.
  • In the Zone: Gain +1 to Shooting, Fighting, Throwing rolls until the end of the scene.

Hey I agree with you guys about he run mechanic. It looked like a fun idea from the cyber runner setting, but maybe it is better in person where you resolve each scene in a matter of minutes. Well we got through the painful parts and now just complications await. I'll take a look at the last two scenes and see how I can combine them into one group scene instead of primary and secondary rollers. Maybe a 5 success dramatic task would work better. Thanks for he feedback!
