Day 1:
Alec rejoins the bulk of the group and gets into the Mark V, giving Kutter directions to the final tribe's territory. He motions for you to stop, and as you emerge, an arrow lands at your feet. Quinn speaks quickly, murmuring, "No sudden moves, guys," and then activates the translator, as a voice calls out:
"Hold, Alec Quinn and friends. The men must put aside their weapons, and four of us will join you in the vehicle."
Assuming you do not object to this plan, four stunning women of distinctly athletic build emerge from the trees, descending on vines to land on the Mark V. The Moon-Hunters come aboard, and wait for the men (and Dog-Boy) to place their weapons aside and move away from the gun turret. One takes the seat next to Kutter, an oversized bone-knife in her hand. She speaks in American, albeit heavily accented. "Fire weapons, man-beast, I cut treacherous hand off." Kutter's got a good ear--there was the typical disdain he's probably heard before in the term "man-beast", but it's not often he's heard it in the first syllable.
The other men are being watched with equal suspicion; only Herra is permitted to keep her weapons, or move about completely freely inside the APV. Again, a heavily accented American is used to address Herra. "No insult to you, Sister, but do not betray trust."
And so Kutter is told where to go, pushing the APV through ferns and vines until you come to a large waterfall feeding into a lagoon. They have him come to a stop, and you all emerge again--the men still weaponless, while Herra is permitted to come out fully geared up. Growler and Kutter can smell them, all around--up in the trees, though they conceal themselves expertly.
The translator kicks in as she speaks. "This is where you will stay while you make your case to us. The caves are used to store foodstuffs, as they are cool and it remains fresh longer. You may eat as you need, and the water is clean to drink. You shall meet with the Council of Elders at sunset, to demonstrate your worth and make your case."
When you finish your preparations and ablutions, if desired, you are then ushered before a row of 12 women, ranging in age from "Matronly" to "She's not dead, is she?" The oldest suddenly shifts, and opens milky, clouded eyes. There is a pulse of power, which both Herra and the Dog-Boys pick up on, and she speaks--in perfectly unaccented American. "You come to us, man-led. You come to us to ask us to fight and die in your battle. You come to us, and ask us to fight along rival tribes. You do all this. Well, at least you aren't cowards." The other elders chuckle amongst themselves.
"Make your case, why we should ally with you. And you, Sister, shall begin, by displaying the Gift which I sense inside you, if you please."
