TW Gymnastic Cloak of Secrecy (Sig Item)

The Stormspire technowizard Damion Forgebright one day after seeing an old time movie about a heroic surgeon had a thought to take an armored cloak blend it with some of the aspects of the infamous Shadow Cloak and then dial it up to 11 for a monster hunter. Thusly he created a one of a kind cloak capable of aiding its wearer in all sorts of athletic feats, as well as allowing the user to become undetectable to anything short of a powerful wizard’s sight. For 1 PPE per hour the user gains the free runner edge, +2 to Most Athletic tasks with the exception of throwing, and can more easily hide in the shadows (+1 stealth). For 9 PPE the user can activate invisibility (self only) with the true invisibility modifier.

I like it. As a suggestion that is not fully RAW, would you/the GM be open to +1 Parry instead of +1 Stealth?

The cloak isn't an Armor or Weapon, but thematically it would definitely be helping shift attacks away from you.

As written, it looks good to me. All the math adds up and I think it is a fun, balanced item.

Also, and I'm not opposed to it, can you add a power limitation to powers granted via major mod slots?

Edit: I reread the TW section of TLPG and the only mention of increased PPE cost is +1 to activate a power as part of another action. There's nothing that I see about increasing the base activation of 1 PPE/hour. As far as I can tell, your activation should be 1 PPE/Hour instead of 2.

Fixed the PpE cost. Thanks. Many of the armors in the A and M book have self only limitation.

Yes, but magic gear in the A and M book can also add extra die types of damage and even more damage against evil, ignore mod slot limitations and generally not follow the guidelines for players :p.

I'm not opposed to the self limitation, and for a "cloak of invisibility" style invisibility effect, I think it's a good call. I just wanted to point out that I'm not sure how RAW or not it is in case that's a factor for this character's game. (Maybe worth an ask on the official forum?)

Edit: Either way, with or without the limitation, the item gets my seal of approval.

Yup. Seems like most TW gear has that limitation implied and in the AM book they spelled it out. Still though they are super inconsistent even within that book.

Yeah, I noticed a couple nights ago that Edges no longer raise activation costs on TW gear. I was surprised that wasn't a bigger deal, really, but it does make it a little more viable to stack Edges on something.

I have no problem putting limits or modifiers on the powers.

+1 Parry doesn't seem like something a cloak could offer. I could see +1 Armor or Toughness. What do other GMs think? I suppose if he's using it Batman style, maybe?

Honestly, Parry fits a duelist style--European cloak-fighters would use their cape to entangle the opponent's weapon--it's not preventing damage, it's keeping the blade from striking in the first place.
