Background

Gerald is a native Alyeskan, and a freelance ice pilot. Coming back from a supply run two years ago, his plane crashed. He managed to limp back to civilization but frostbite claimed his left foot and a portion of his leg. He wears a prothesis now, which mostly compensates for the loss.

His parents are native Gwentians, and contrary to many in Alyeska, consider themselves patriots. After his crash, Gerald's father used an old military connection to get him into the logistics wings of the RAF, where he has been using his knowledge of the area, weather, and "locals" (sky pirates) to coordinate supply runs.

He was not a freelance ice pilot. He fell-in with sky pirates but wanted to leave that life behind. He tried to sneak away in a stolen scout plane in the middle of the night, but was pursued and shot-down. As far as he knows, his former crew assumes him to be dead and no one knows of his past affiliations.
