Sepulchre of Suetonius

Sepulchre of Suetonius Standoff

The demon standing just outside of the immediate intense and radiant circle of the Knights stode twenty or more feet. Its skin was scaled in blues and greens. In its right hand was a trident made of something green and was eaily another five feet longer than the demon. In its left hand was a sword of a black glossy material. Its tail swished behind it stirring up the dust in little eddies. The only feature that seemed maybe remotely human was its face which looked human and masculine. Remotely human head was larger than an average human however and had horns that curled out from the forehead up and towards the back of its head.

The figure to the left of the demon appeared human, male, and of average size. His dark skin glistens with sweat and he appears exhausted. Dressed in a leather duster over top a jersey and a pair of jeans. He wore combat boots. When and if anyone looks at him directly he tries to hide his left hand in a pocket of his duster.

Angelus stood at the ready with a medium sized halberd already raised and at the ready in her hands. Her armor lacked a true polish but one could see there was still more than enough care put into it. Meanwhile her face and most of her features were covered by the visor of her helmet but it still didn’t take much effort to notice the rage and confusion in her eyes. She looked at the group of knights before them as their style of armor brought back foggy memories of her past comrades. That however did seem to make much of a difference to the magic that was willing her forward

@Angelus_23 you actually recognize the words being spoken. The words and their meanings are a little fuzzy as if your ability to translate and speak this language have not been used in several lifetimes.

As you have become accustomed to over a very long period of time, the demon speaks to you through your mind. You mind translates demon speak flawlessly. You in turn speak to the demon through and using your mind, as well.

"Pathetic Worm. Announce me."
The female human in armor having been pushed forward looks back at the demon. There is a stern and almost defiant look from the woman. And the demon looks in the direction of the Knights.

The woman opens up her mouth and turns towards the Knights but is unable to make anything remotely intelligent come from her lips. She looks back and the exchange turns to disgust and disappointment from the demon. Turning to the dark skinned male, it uses the three prongs of its trident to nudge the man forward. Again the two stare at each other intently and finally the dark skinned man turns and looks at the Knights.

He clearly speaks your language but his tone is less than excited. More in line with fearful and distrustful.

"This is Merihim. The Bringer of Pestillence and Putresence. Fear Him."

In spite of the fact the demon knew her thoughts she still attempted to hurl another insult out at him “As the title of pestilence bringer implies. He’s a sick f-“ however before she could finish she felt the butt of the trident smack her in the back of her helmet. Which easily sent her failing down onto her face as the top of the helmet fell over her eyes.

Seelia is brought up short by the apparition as it comes into full view, and the two people it has flanking it. Her eyes narrow as she takes in the tableau before her, and she points her shining sword at the monster's heart.

"You pretended to be the Queen! Heresy! Mopery! I will show you what befalls those who meddle with the vows of the knights of summer! BAD THINGS!"

What @Angelus_23 failed to realize or remember was Merihim had a tail. It had come around blindingly fast and had slapped her to the ground. The point where the butt of the trident had come into the events was that he now had her pinned to the dusty stone floor with it.

Made the Notice Check at a TN of 4, read on _

Kardis bore his eyes upon the herald of suck darkness, still like a storm front his voice crashed, ” Mouth piece... Whatever the bond the demon holds you by, now is the time to find your forge and set yourself free...”

"Demons can be banished from worlds not their own. They are returned to the Well of Eternal Night and reborn."

@Angelus_23 needs to make an oppossed Strength Check, as she is pinned to the floor with the butt of the demon's trident.

Angelus sighed and for a moment thought about just laying there and trying to not even get up when he told her do. After the thought fleeted she immediately attempted to poke the spear point of her halberd into the leg of the demon.

Initiative in alphabetical order with players at the top, the in the same order with NPCs.
I will roll 1d56 for each of your initiative cards. I do not reroll duplicates, instead there are 2 extra Joker positions.
  • Quick rerolls 20 or less
  • Quickness with a Raise rerolls 28 or less
  • 53, 54, 55, 56 are considered Jokers
  • Cards divisible by 4 are considered Clubs for hindrances affected by Clubs (excepting 56 which is a joker).


Card Dealing Method

These are Ravagers. Roughly the size of a an average dog. They can climb walls and other things. They are known to hang upside down and drop on unsuspecting passers by. They attack en masse. Easily a hundred or more of these small pests.

These are mindless minions and are essentailly 1 Token per cluster. Ravagers are 10 tokens total.

These are Imp Troopers. Consider them the grunts of all Demonic Armies. Much like the Redshirts of Star Trek or the Stormtroopers of Star Wars. You consider them to be equipped with melee and ranged weapons of archaic and modern varities. Twenty of these shock troops.

They work together and independently. 1 Token per every four Imp Troopers. Imp Troopers are 5 Tokens total.

Task 2 - Discover Allegiances (5 Tokens)

In this task you have two potential allies but the Knights need to determine how strong these allegiances are.

For Angelous, she is a 3 Token portion of this task.

For the Dark Skinned Man, he is a 2 Token portion of this task.


Task 3 - Reveal Your Location (5 Tokens)

Why here? Why now? These are the questions pertinent to your task.

5 Tokens Total.

Instructions _
The Dramatic Task ends when one side defeats the other. So naturally, combat task would make sense to be addressed first. However, should Task 2 and/or Task 3 be completed before Task 1, there will be added benefits and bonuses to the completion of Task 1.

Any Crit Failure will provide the opposing side with 2 Tokens.

Any Failure will provide the opposing side with 1 Token.

Till otherwise noted, Angelous is pinch hitting for the Demons. The Dark Skinned Man is a mystery.

Also Buxley, the Golden Dragon known as The Dawn Herald, will be batting clean up for the Knights.

Digging deep into his well of divine power the druid accelerates himself to the point the rest of the world slows. Madok then channels the power of his staff to banish some of the abominous horde. "Vile fiends I return ye to the foul place of yer spawnin, may no one have mercy one yer souls."

Kardis stared at the hulking red demon across from him. The creature’s muscles buldged and dripped with the blood of an enemy freshly fallen. Kardis grimaced and wiped the sweat off his brow. The table before them was set in a backroom, and inscribed with demonic and holy sigils binding the two participants for good or ill. KArdis’ breath blew hot like a glory hole filled with glass, ” I win... You go back to hell demon.”

The demon grunted, its muscles growing twice as large as Kardis stood. Its foul voice would send a shiver down a mortals spine. Fortunately Kardis was far from mortal... It croaked, ” If we win... Your soul goes to us, haha...”

The cosmo knight nodded and stuck out his armored fist. The demon grunted and grasped it, and the two arm wrestled for an eternity in time. Keeper give me your strength so we can send this and his brethen back to the abyss they came from.
